SALARY: $10-$11 PER HOUR
Reading production list ( must speak,read,and write in English) hours are 9pm-5am. Based on your experience you can grow with us.
Must know how to use commercial oven. Must bake and pack cookies , and light kitchen prep work.
Position Summary:
Responsible for accurately and efficiently pulling, packaging and processing orders for shipment
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Knows and adheres to Company Quality Control System.
- Knowledgeable of the part identification system, specialty codes and part revisions
- Complies with all quality assurance procedures and policies to ensure best quality product output.
- Completes and maintains a variety of measurements, reports, records and documentation.
- Strives to improve departmental efficiencies and reduce cost through continuous improvement.
- Adheres to established inventory control systems and computer tracking.
- Maintains a clean and safe warehouse and working environment.
- Fosters goodwill with all internal customers.
- Stocks workstations with all material required in the packaging process.
- Sorts and palletizes finished product for shipment.
- Strives to reduce all shipping errors.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Experience/Education:
Individuals in this position are expected to have a thorough knowledge of plant layout, warehouse mapping, equipment applications, material requirements and good inventory control practices. Persons shall demonstrate competency when using scales, compactors, shrink wrap and strapping machines, computers (both PC and RF) and other hand tools. Individuals should exhibit strong communication and organizational skills along with a comprehensive understanding of customer satisfaction. A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
Physical Standards:
Requirements of this position include the ability to lift 50 pounds, maneuver 100 pounds (with the use of a hand truck) and move up to 300 pounds (with the use of a pallet jack). The individual must also be able to stand for long periods of time.
This position rotates through a variety of tasks in the production area including, but not limited to: packing apples into trays, boxes, and bags; sorting; keeping the floors clear of culls and debris; and performing other related tasks in preparation for shipments to customers.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (by area):
- Tray Lines
- (sides and ends) –
- Sorts and straightens apples with both hands, placing defect apples onto conveyer above shoulders. Fills boxes with trays of fruit, each tray weighing up to 12#. Pushes full box (weighing up to 50#) down box ramp.
- Tubs
- – Hand packs using one hand/arm to repetitively grasp single apples and place onto foam tray. Places defect apples onto conveyer above shoulders. Pushes full boxes (weighing up to 50#) from horse cart onto conveyer. Reaches above head to pull empty boxes (weighing up to 3#) off monorail.
- Pre-Sort
- – As new apples are dumped onto the production line and pass through chlorinated water, the Packer sorts through these apples and removes obvious defect and/or debris. Must be able to tolerate chlorination levels safely applied at up to 200 ppm. Must be able to lean forward and extend arms at or below shoulder level. Performs this task using a light metal rod (1.5#) to reel in hard-to-reach rot.
- Bagging Area
- – Sorts from bagging table; tosses culls into floor cull buckets; makes bags by hand or by using the poly bagging machine. Bags may range in weight from 2 to 25#. Places bags into boxes; when full, pushes boxes (weighing up to 50#) onto conveyer track.
- Repack
- – Sorts through previously packed boxes that didn’t meet customer specifications; makes packing adjustments as needed.
- Sorting Table
- – Sorts apples according to whether classified as acceptable, defect, juice, peelers, and rot. Reaches above head, at shoulder level, and at/below waist level to grasp and place accordingly.
- Clears fallen apples and debris from floor; maintains a clean work space.
- Performs other packing duties as workload dictates.
- Adheres to all safety protocol and demonstrates commitment to working in the safest manner possible.
- Maintains a strong attendance record.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Type of power equipment, machinery used on job: Semi-automatic poly baggers
Type of tools used on the job: “Horse” carts, digital scales
Vehicles and/or moving equipment used on job: NA
Personal protection equipment/clothing required for the job: Hair net, gloves, beard net
Possible chemical exposure: Sodium hypochlorite in pre-sort area; anhydrous ammonia; other basic chemicals common to warehouse environments
Above or below normal temperature exposure as part of the job: Cool packing environment
